No one speaks it as a native language, so how can they be sure what a word means?

how is latin a dead language?
the language Latin how is it a dead language.its not like the ancient Babylonian language nobody knows how to speak it because their is nobody speaking it.latin tons of people like the pope know how to speak it.im just wandering why people say the language latin is dead.its not spoken alot as it used to be but at least their are people that speak it.what makes latin a dead language.

How did Latin become a dead language?
Why did people stop speaking Latin? I’m sure they didn’t all wake up one day and start speaking Italian instead. Did it have to do with the fall of the Roman Empire? How did Latin evolve into Italian?

Why Would Someone Want To Learn A Dead Language Such As Latin?
Linguistically, it helps you learn more about another language. Historically, it helps you understand literature and other cultural factors in the society that spoke it. Pragmatically, there are professions that require basic knowledge of a dead language (e.g., law, medicine, priesthood, etc.)

When Did The Latin Language Die Out To Become Dead?
The Latin language is not actually dead but it is frail and weak and is trying to exist in this world although only a few people specifically priests and those in Rome are the only ones who know of and is practicing this language. A language, like civilization only dies when no one is using it or practicing it such that it will be forgotten.
