Ok, So, If I Want To Learn Latin, Where Do I Start?
I want to learn Latin in order to have the foundations to ease the learning of the romance languages. If I learn Latin though, I would obviously want to read some great works in Latin (or at least try, lol). So, is there a distinction? I ask because im under the impression that vulgar Latin is the root of the romance languages, but that it differs from written Latin. So…I want to learn Latin: Where do I start?

Where To Learn Latin Or Greek In Ontario?
Hi,
I am a high school student in Ontario (the Halton area) and I really want to learn how to speak and write either Latin or Greek (or both). My school doesn’t provide such courses. Do you know where I could learn these languages? I am looking for formal lessons, with a qualified teacher.

I am looking for the latin form of this quote from Cicero:
“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
Please give the source of your translation. I’ve already looked it up on one of those online english to latin translators, but anyone who speaks more than one language and has used those knows there’s always room for errors. This is what I got from one of the translation sites:
“A cella vacuus libri est amo a somes vacuus a animus”
Thanks in advance!
